LSJ Award Recipients

The ARLIS/NA Texas-Mexico Chapter congratulated Mark Pompelia as the recipient of the 2017 Lois Swan Jones Professional Development Award. Mark currently lives in  Rhode Island and works as the Visual + Material Resource Librarian at the Rhode Island School of Design’s Fleet Library.  Mark has been a member of the Texas-Mexico Chapter since his days working at Rice University and continues to take an active role in the chapter.

The $500 award supported expenses related to attending the ARLIS/NA annual conference in New Orleans from February 5-9, 2017. While Mark was at the conference, he served as the chair of the Finance Committee, acted as co-moderator for the Materials Special Interest Group, and co-presented a poster on Material Order, a shared materials database and consortium between Harvard University Graduate School of Design and RISD’s Fleet Library.
